Visibility & Identity Controls
1. Anonymous Profile Visibility
Wigiwork provides anonymous profiles by default.
Candidates control which elements of their professional information are visible.
Personal identifiers — including, but not limited to, name, contact details, photo, past employer names, education institutions, and precise location — are not disclosed to employers unless the candidate explicitly approves access. Wigiwork does not guarantee that identification is impossible in all circumstances.
WigiPic™ Avatar Visibility & Photo-to-Avatar Generation
Wigiwork may allow candidates to generate a WigiPic™ avatar using a user-uploaded photo.
Candidates may optionally upload a photo to generate their WigiPic™ avatar. The photo is used once to create the avatar, is never shown to employers, and is not stored afterward. WigiPics are stylized, symbolic illustrations — not likeness tools — and do not reflect appearance, gender, ethnicity, age, or other personal traits.
Employers and recruiters must not attempt to infer identity or demographic traits from a candidate's avatar. WigiPics are placeholders used solely to support anonymous interaction within the platform.
Wigiwork is not responsible for any inference, interpretation, or misuse of avatar representations by users.
2. Controlled Employer Access
Employers may only view a candidate's full profile after:
- submitting an access request and receiving approval, or
- when the candidate has enabled automatic access for verified employers.
All employer access is time-limited and expires automatically.
Upon expiration, employers must not:
- retain, store, or copy candidate information;
- use candidate information for any further purpose.
Unauthorized retention or use violates NDA-Safe™ obligations and may result in suspension, termination, or legal action.
Employers who retain or misuse candidate information outside the platform are solely responsible for that conduct and act as independent controllers under applicable data-protection laws.
3. Default Privacy Protections
To protect candidate anonymity and avoid conflicts of interest, Wigiwork may automatically restrict visibility of a candidate's profile from certain parties, including where:
- conflicts with past or present employers may exist;
- recruiter-client relationships indicate a risk to candidate anonymity;
- safety, compliance, or privacy concerns are identified.
These protections operate silently and may not be overridden by employers. Wigiwork retains full discretion over how and when such protections are applied.
Wigiwork may also apply internal checks and system controls based on profile data, work history, employer relationships, and user-defined visibility settings to reduce the risk of unintended identification or conflicts.
These measures are designed to improve privacy and safety but do not guarantee that identification is impossible in all circumstances.
Candidates may control additional privacy preferences within their account.
4. Candidate-Managed Privacy Controls
Candidates may restrict visibility to specific companies or individuals. When a restriction is applied, those parties cannot discover or view the candidate's profile under normal platform operation, subject to system limitations and applicable law.
These controls apply across search, discovery, preview displays, and employer tools.
5. Public Discoverability
By default, a candidate's anonymous profile may be publicly discoverable, including through search engines (e.g., Google), AI tools, and other external discovery surfaces.
When public discoverability is active:
- the anonymous profile may appear in search results and on external-facing or extended discovery surfaces;
- personal identity remains fully hidden;
- identity is revealed only when the candidate approves access, subject to system limitations and user actions.
Candidates may disable public discoverability at any time through their account settings, which removes or limits the anonymous profile's visibility on external search and discovery surfaces going forward. Wigiwork does not control removal of previously indexed or cached content by third-party search engines or AI tools.
This default setting, its legal basis, and how to change it are also described in our Data Protection Notice.
Appearing within any specific search or discovery result is not guaranteed, even when public discoverability is enabled; see the AI & Automated Decision Notice for details on how ranking and display limitations work.
6. Employer Access Roles
Employer accounts include role-based permissions:
Owner
- full control of the employer account;
- manages recruiter users;
- responsible for compliance with all Terms;
- may delete the employer account.
Manager
- may administer recruiter accounts;
- cannot remove or modify the Owner;
- cannot delete the employer account.
User
- limited viewing permissions;
- cannot modify other users or company settings.
The Owner is fully responsible for all activity performed under the employer account, including actions of recruiters, employees, and authorized users.
7. Identity Reset
Candidates may reset their anonymous identity at any time.
When an identity reset occurs:
- the anonymous username and avatar are replaced;
- anonymous user ID is refreshed;
- message history, visibility history, and employer access are cleared;
- any pending or active access permissions are revoked.
Core professional profile information (skills, experience, education, preferences) remains intact.
Identity Reset is permanent and cannot be reversed. Wigiwork is not responsible for any data, access, or interactions lost as a result of identity reset.
8. No Identity Linking
After an identity reset:
- Wigiwork does not link the new anonymous identity to the previous one;
- previous employer access is not restored;
- candidates cannot be identified through past activity within normal platform operation, but Wigiwork does not guarantee that identification is impossible in all circumstances.
Job applications submitted under a previous identity remain recorded only for compliance, audit, and fraud-prevention purposes.
Candidates may not reapply for the same role under a new anonymous identity.
9. Identity Reset Abuse Prevention
Identity Reset may not be used to:
- reapply to previously submitted roles;
- evade employer decisions or platform restrictions;
- circumvent data accuracy expectations;
- manipulate visibility, ranking, or shortlisting;
- create multiple identities for competitive advantage.
Wigiwork may restrict, delay, deny, or revoke identity reset functionality if abuse is suspected.
Repeated violations may result in suspension or account termination.
10. Visibility & Access Integrity
Users may not:
- attempt to bypass candidate privacy controls;
- improperly request access on behalf of unauthorized companies;
- misuse recruiter accounts to view hidden or restricted profiles;
- attempt to circumvent access expiration or identity reset protections.
Any misuse of visibility or access mechanisms is a material breach of these Terms and may result in suspension, termination, or legal action.
