Wigiwork uses private verification checks to help confirm that accounts are operated by real people. This helps reduce fake and impersonating accounts, protects candidates, and supports a safer professional environment.

When a person successfully completes the applicable verification, they receive a Verified Tick.

For candidates using anonymous profiles, verification does not expose their real identity or change their selected visibility settings.

1. Who Needs to Verify?

All active accounts must complete required email and phone verification.

Employers, Recruiters and Organization Users

Private identity verification is recommended for the Account Owner and may be required by Wigiwork. Where required, the employer workspace is restricted until verification is complete.

Other authorized organization users do not routinely require a separate private identity check. Their access remains subject to assigned permissions and any verification Wigiwork specifically requires.

Wigiwork may require additional or renewed verification of the Account Owner, company, authority, or a specific user where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, candidate protection, legal compliance, or platform integrity.

Candidates

Candidates may complete private verification to receive a Verified Tick and show that their profile has completed Wigiwork's real-person verification process.

Candidate verification is optional unless Wigiwork specifically requires it for security, fraud prevention, safety, legal compliance, account integrity, platform integrity, or access to a particular feature.

Choosing not to complete optional candidate verification does not by itself prevent the candidate from maintaining an account.

2. How Verification Works

Verification is conducted through a third-party verification provider.

Depending on the applicable verification flow, the provider may process a government-issued identity document, a selfie or liveness capture, document-authenticity information, relevant technical information, and fraud-prevention signals.

Wigiwork receives only limited verification results and related information needed to administer verification, protect users, prevent fraud, control access, comply with applicable requirements, and display the Verified Tick.

For an employer Account Owner, this may also include the verified name and document type so Wigiwork can confirm which person completed the check and authorized the employer workspace.

Under the current configuration, Wigiwork does not receive the submitted identity-document images or selfie or liveness images.

Further information is provided in the Privacy Policy and Data Protection Notice.

3. What the Verified Tick Means

The Verified Tick shows that the individual successfully completed Wigiwork's applicable private verification check.

It helps users recognize accounts that have completed verification and reduces the risk of fake, impersonating, or automated accounts.

The Verified Tick may appear next to:

  • a candidate's anonymous profile identity;
  • a verified Account Owner's name;
  • profiles and candidate-facing account areas;
  • messages; and
  • Access Requests.

The Verified Tick does not verify:

  • skills, qualifications, or professional ability;
  • employment or work history;
  • employer affiliation;
  • recruiter, representative, client, or hiring authority;
  • company legitimacy;
  • overall trustworthiness; or
  • suitability for a role.

Company verification, employer affiliation, recruiter-client authority, and hiring-authority checks are separate processes.

4. How Verification Status May Be Used

Wigiwork may use verification status to:

  • administer the Verified Tick;
  • confirm account authenticity;
  • determine whether sensitive features may be accessed;
  • protect candidates and confidential information;
  • prevent fraud, impersonation, abuse, and unauthorized access; and
  • support relevant trust, safety, profile-presentation, Discovery, ranking, or recommendation signals.

For candidates, verification status may be one of several signals used in profile presentation or automated ordering.

A verified candidate profile may receive more weight than an otherwise comparable unverified profile where verification status is relevant.

Verification status is not:

  • a professional assessment;
  • the sole basis for ranking, matching, recommendations, visibility, or shortlist inclusion; or
  • a guarantee of employer interest, Access Requests, interviews, offers, or hiring outcomes.

Identity-document images, selfie or liveness captures, and biometric verification material are not used as ranking, matching, recommendation, shortlist, or visibility factors.

5. Verification Limitations

Verification helps reduce identity, impersonation, and account-misuse risks. It does not guarantee that:

  • every document or representation is genuine;
  • an account will never be compromised or misused;
  • a person works for or has authority to represent a stated organization;
  • professional or employment information is accurate;
  • every fraudulent or harmful activity will be detected; or
  • a verified user will comply with Wigiwork's rules.

Users should continue to review relevant information and exercise appropriate professional judgment.

Wigiwork may request additional or renewed verification and may restrict features, remove verification status, suspend, or terminate an account where verification is incomplete, expired, inconsistent, unverifiable, misleading, fraudulent, or insufficient for applicable security, safety, legal, or platform-integrity requirements.

6. Data Privacy and Retention

Verification information is used for account verification, candidate protection, fraud prevention, security, compliance, dispute resolution, verification-status administration, and platform integrity.

The third-party verification provider processes information under applicable contractual, confidentiality, security, and data-protection requirements.

Provider processing and retention are subject to the applicable verification flow, contractual requirements, retention settings, and applicable law.

Under Wigiwork's current configuration, active verification session data, identity documents, selfie or liveness captures, biometric templates, and verification results are automatically deleted by the verification provider at the end of the configured one-month retention period. Backup copies may remain temporarily under a daily snapshot rotation of up to 35 days. Provider audit logs recording platform access and actions may be retained for 365 days and do not contain the verification content.

Wigiwork retains the limited verification information it receives only for as long as reasonably necessary for the applicable verification, security, fraud-prevention, audit, dispute, enforcement, compliance, or legal purpose.

Further information is provided in Wigiwork's Privacy Policy and Data Protection Notice.

7. Your Rights and Contact

Depending on applicable law, individuals may have rights concerning personal information used in verification, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or review of an incorrect verification status.
